Throughout the season the Club holds a number of Club Competitions as well as Inter Club Battles – these are an excellent opportunity for feedback and constructive advice on your images, and a chance to see others members’ work.
General competitions
Five General competitions – each with four categories of:
Open Print
Open Digitally Projected Image (DPI)
Set Subject Print
Set Subject DPI
- One image per category
- Colour or monochrome
- Competitions are judged by a qualified independent judge, who gives an image critique and awards points
- Points are awarded for First / Second / Third / Highly Commended / Commended
- The set subjects are decided by member vote each season, and announced at the AGM.

Annual Club competition
The Annual competitions are divided into a range of categories which vary year to year. Details for this season’s categories are found within the Club Handbook.
- One image per category
- Colour or monochrome
- Competitions are judged by a qualified independent judge
- Places awarded for First / Second / Third / Highly Commended / Commended
- The winners of the Annual competitions are awarded with a trophy
Inter Club Battles
CCC takes part in four battles a year, currently against Swindon Photographic Society, Cheltenham Camera Club, Wantage Camera Club and Tetbury Camera Club.
Images entered into the Battles are chosen from the members’ images submitted to the General Competitions by the Battle Secretary.
On ‘Battle Night’, an independent judge scores each image out of 20, and announces the winning club at the end of the evening.
